Here comes the Sun

This is a little sunflower that sits on my window sill reaching for the sun...actually, no. It's a silk sunflower, it does live on my window sill but doesn't give a darn about the sun.  I just had a little fun photographing it with the lens baby velvet 56, then adding some texture in photoshop.

Lensbaby

The Lensbaby Velvet 56...what a fun lens to use. You can create beautiful photos that look like paintings right out of the camera. Only a slight exposure adjustment in Lightroom to this one. And the added mat of course.

Murals

I have an idea for a personal project that's been percolating in the back of my head for a while, it has to do with the murals on buildings around my area. It seems that every time I drive around I find another new one. I think it's wonderful that more and more business owners are commissioning artists to paint these murals on their buildings...and as one who can barely manage to draw a stick figure, I'm always in awe of the artist's work.

Here muralist Mike McCloskey prepares to add some finishing touches to his mural on the Harry Goode Outdoor Shop in Melbourne. I'll need to go back with a wide angle lens to include the entire mural in a photo.

More painting.

Another little painting using Photoshop and the Topaz plugin. One of the rescue dogs currently living at the Humane Society. This little guy shows us where one of the popular yoga positions may have originated.

Old San Juan

This is a look inside the old fort in Old San Juan Puerto Rico. I love the colors and textures of the old walls and can almost picture soldiers pouring out of the door and tunnel ready for action.
